Travelling

By air

Kristiansand airport is called Kjevik (KRS). There are direct flights to Kjevik from Copenhagen, Amsterdam and London. There are also frequent domestic flights to Kjevik from Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger and Trondheim.

By boat

Kristiansand lies right beside the sea and is therefore also accessible by boat. Ferries go between Kristiansand and Hirtshals (Denmark) and various cruiseships call on Kristiansand harbour every year. For more info about the harbour, ferries, and cruises see: Kristiansand harbour

By train

The Norwegian railway company operates all lines in Norway. Trains run directly between Kristiansand and Oslo (about 4.5 hours), and between Kristiansand and Stavanger (about 3 hours). Tickets can be bought online and more information can be found on the website of Go-Ahead.

By bus

Outside Kristiansand: There are various buscompanies catering for travellers who travel longer distances departing from or arriving in Kristiansand. Information can be found on the following websites:

  • En-tur Travel planner
  • www.nor-way.no/en
  • Lavprisekspressen (in Norwegian)

In Kristiansand: Timetables and information on travelling by buss within the area of Kristiansand can be found at the website of Agder Kollektivtrafikk AS. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes by buss from the city centre to the university campus.
