We have been monitoring the declining infection rate in Noway and the restrictions in Kristiansand, and have decided to plan for a hybrid conference (allowing participants to participate online). In doing this, both the University and the Mayor of Kristiansand hope to see as many as possible in-person.
But, knowing that there still are restrictions, and understanding the concerns some of you have, we open up for registering for online participation from the start, and upgrading to in-person participation later. If you choose to upgrade to in-person participation by July 25th, you will be offered to pay the difference between early bird online registration and early bird in-person registration.
So far the Norwegian government is rather strict on incoming visitors, but they have promised to open up for digital vaccination cards from EU when these are available (expecting this to be appr. July 1st.) We strongly believe it will be possible for many of you to participate in-person, and do hope to see you here!
More on the regulations (will be updated):
For exemption from infection quarantine, so far, only Norwegian certificates for documented COVID-19 are approved. For exemption from entry quarantine, quarantine hotel and the possibility of shortening entry quarantine, currently (15th of June) the only secure and verifiable way to document status as protected is to show a Norwegian COVID-19 certificate with a QR code that can be verified by Norwegian authorities. Only vaccines against COVID-19 that are approved by the European Medicines Agency are considered.
Exemptions from infection quarantine
Travelers that have undergone covid-19 in the last six months, or are fully vaccinated, are exempted from entry quarantine. The premise is that the vaccination/undergone covid-19 disease can be documented in a secure and verifiable way.
Travelers who have received one vaccine dose (and 3-15 weeks have elapsed since their first dose) and children under the age of 18 must, until further notice, go into travel quarantine. The quarantine can be terminated with a negative PCR test after three days. You still have to be tested at the border.
